"Every day I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness; I have walked myself into my best thoughts."
Soren Kierkegaard
"In every walk with nature one receives far more than one seeks."
John Muir
"All truly great thoughts are conceived by walking."
Friedrich Nietzsche
Dear friends,
I am pleased to announce the first ‘Walkie-Talkie’.
The ‘Walkie-Talkies’ will be short videos (five to ten minutes) in which I talk while I walk, as the title suggests.
The idea is that during these short walks I will spontaneously talk about whatever comes to mind, without a script. Although I will always have an idea of what I want to talk about, I also want to follow my inspiration of the moment and give free rein to my intuition. Hopefully, nature will assist me in this, as I intend to walk and talk in nature, surrounded by the many other forms of life with which we share the planet.
All possible topics that I am working on in A Biosphere Project can come into the picture, and that is a very broad field because my research now extends to many areas of human knowledge and activity.
The central topic remains, of course, the current convergence of many ecological crises and the way in which these (along with the other systemic crises we are facing) can be traced back to a crisis in our worldview and our belief systems.
But the focus also remains, as in this series of Musings and Meditations, primarily on new and hopeful ideas for a new world, a more beautiful world that is indeed possible, however unlikely that may seem at present.
In the ‘Walkie-Talkies’ I will also discuss new developments that point in the direction of a new worldview, and developments in science and philosophy that are often quite surprising or even bewildering. But my intention is to treat these ideas in a concise, accessible, and spontaneous way, during walks that will be equally intuitive and unplanned.
I may also talk about the progress of my work and what I encounter in my writing or research, as a spontaneous and intuitive diary (sort of). I want to keep it really short each time, because I know that I sometimes get carried away in the heat of the moment, and the ‘Walkie-Talkies’ are not meant to be long-winded philosophical treatises. Rather, they should be short musings and reflections, accessible and light-hearted.
I can't yet fully foresee where these ‘Walkie-Talkies’ will take me. I want to surprise myself, and it's quite possible that the walks will take me to places (literally and figuratively) I can't yet know . Just as these ‘Musings’ have brought me new insights and a new understanding of my own goals with the project. Something you can expect to hear more about soon in the blog.
The ‘Walkie-Talkies’ will therefore also be a form of ‘musing and meditating’, just like my latest series of visual work, ‘Thinking Out Loud’. I continue to think and muse out loud, formerly with paint or graphite or collage, now also while walking.
I see walking and talking as an opportunity to spontaneously and intuitively explore all the topics covered in my blog, musings, and essays. In addition to the ‘Walkie-Talkies,’ I also intend to make longer, more elaborate videos, and I have plans for a podcast, but let's start with one thing at a time.
The ‘Walkie-Talkies’ will have their own blog feed on the website, so in the future, you will no longer find them here in the Musings but on their own page. Those who subscribe to the blog and newsletter will also receive the Walkie-Talkies by email whenever a new one is published. Of course, you can also subscribe to the YouTube channel of A Biosphere Project, and you will receive a notification whenever a new video is published.
Don't forget to ‘like’ the videos if you appreciate them, as this really helps me to reach a wider audience!
You can also help by sharing the videos, blog posts, and musings within your own network, via email or social media. Sharing is caring! Thank you in advance!
Without further ado, I would like to invite you to watch or listen to the first Walkie-Talkie. And I hope to welcome you as companions on many future walks! Don't forget to like the videos and subscribe to the A Biosphere Project channel, and also share if you want to help spread the videos.
Thanks for reading and/ or watching, until the next episode,
All the best,
Filip
