blog, musings and essays

The ideas and insights that emerge in my research, I intend to share continuously in the blog and musings.

The blog and musings each fulfill a slightly different function, or have a different focus.

Below is a brief summary of my intentions, with a link below to a more detailed description.

If you click on any of the titles, you will also be taken to the extended description.

Musings and Meditations

The “musings” are just that: intuitive and spontaneous texts in which I give my thoughts free reign, and allow free association to allow that from one musing another can intuitively follow.

Central to the Musings, though, is the exploration of hopeful ideas, sometimes very surprising new insights, and new reasons for action and confidence in the possibility of a more beautiful world. I connect science with art or poetry, ecology with spirituality, personal experiences with societal evolutions. I follow my intuition and my heart, and therefore sometimes come to places that surprise myself as much as (possibly) you.

Blog

In the “regular” blog then, I can further explore certain themes, ideas or figures that pop up in the Musings.

The blog is possibly more “down to earth”. I share updates on the project, reflections on various aspects of the ecological meta-crisis and social evolutions related to it, information on 'technical' aspects of the transitions we face, such as the energy transition or the transition to regenerative agriculture.

But the boundary between the blog and the Musings is not carved in stone, and there may be overlaps.

Essays

The essays are longer explorations of an idea or theme. Long can mean anything: most of the essays I've written so far counted around 4,000 words, but a few went way beyond that, the record holder for now being ‘Let Us Not Talk About the Climate Crisis Any Longer (Part Two)’.

The essays and longer blog posts (over 2,000 words) will feature audio versions as much as possible. The audio versions are read by myself.
